Here at Mini Travellers we like finding out what people would recommend that you do in their favourite cities so we asked Victoria from Starlight and Stories for 10 Things to do in Harrogate with Kids.

  1. Take a walk, kick a ball or ride a bike around the stray. Around Christmas time it’s especially beautiful as all of the trees are lit up with beautiful colourful lights.

2. Take a trip to Harlow Carr, with a maze, treehouse, three separate park areas and plenty of space to run around, this is one place the whole family will enjoy.

3. Have a cake in Betty’s. Surprisingly children friendly, a trip to Harrogate isn’t complete without a visit to this iconic tea rooms.

4. Visit Stockeld Park, with its giant trampolines in summer and skiing in winter, an all year round ice skating rink and plenty of delicious food in the well stocked cafe, this is one place that’s well worth a visit at any time of year.

5. Have a paddle in Valley Gardens. The perfect place to spend a summer’s day; from the fantastic outdoor swimming pool to the imaginatively designed children’s play area, what’s even better is it doesn’t cost a penny.

6. Take a run around Kidz Play, an indoor adventure playground that’s great fun whatever the weather.

7. Have lunch in the Waterstones Cafe, after strolling around the children’s books. Not only is it one of the most affordable places to eat in Harrogate, the staff are lovely and the menu is flexible.

8. Have a splash in the Hydro. With pools suitable both for experienced swimmers and little ones, as well as those who love to dive – you’ll find the perfect place to swim whatever the ability of your children,

9. Take a stroll around town; with both a Tinc and a Smiggle, an Early Learning Centre and a Toymaster there’s plenty of leverage to allow you to admire the beautiful clothes shops which the town boasts. 

10. Visit the Theatre, with a whole host of shows on offer, including an excellent pantomime each Christmas, this is one visit you definitely won’t regret.
