The Good Life Experience describes itself as a weekend of “fun + discovery, music, food, books, ideas, workshops & the great outdoors.” It’s also situated in Hawarden which is a mere 25 minutes from our home on the Wirral so we decided to take up the opportunity to head there for the day right at the end of the Summer.

1. Book early for The Good Life Experience 2019!

If you are wondering about going to The Good Life Experience 2019 then do!  And if you have decided you’re going toThe Good Life Experience 2019 then book as soon as you can. Tickets go up in price as the year goes on.  Super Early bird tickets for The Good Life Experience 2019 are available now here!

2. Children under 11 are free

Children under 11 are free whether that is for camping or non-camping,  you just need to book tickets for them.

3. Book activities as soon as you get to The Good Life Experience 2019!

Have a scout about and see what activities and workshops need to be booked and either book them as soon as you can or make a note of when to go back and book them if they open up throughout the weekend. There are quite a few free activities happening throughout the weekend but many of them do get booked up.

We managed to book our kids on a tree climbing workshop for late on Saturday afternoon which was booked up every session.

4. The fairground is quiet first thing!

Try and encourage the kids to use the FREE fairground rides when it’s quiet.

5. Decide on how much you want to spend on activities and stick to it

Whilst there are free activities there are also a lot that cost quite a bit. Set a budget with the kids (and yourselves if you need one). Mine did bag making £25 and candle making £15 each when we were there which soon adds up.

6. Camp light

Whilst it’s really not too far from the car park to the camp site at The Good Life Experience do pack light so it’s easy to carry your things to your pitch. Put things in bags that the kids can carry, for example ours carried their own sleeping bag and backpack with clothes in. It’s a beautiful setting with views of the rolling hills so enjoy the site.

7. Take a trolley

Take/hire a trolley even if you don’t have little ones. Really useful for taking chairs around with you into the festival and supplies of food and snacks and water. This may depend on the weather I guess as in the pouring down rain you may not want to be lugging it, but they are most definitely useful for taking all your things to your pitch!

8. Go with Friends

Going with friends to a festival gives you all flexibility. Flexibility to head off to other tents or see different bands/acts/speakers without leaving one person on their own with all the kids or feeling like you’re seeing the festival alone as you watch the kids!  It’s also a lot of fun. Persuade all your friends to book for The Good Life Experience 2019 and make it into a brilliant weekend.  The Good Life Experience also has quite a lot of book readings (with adult themes) so you want to try and see some of these if you can too.

I took myself off to see a couple whilst we were there and then swapped with others and had the kids.

9. Take your dog!

Yes the The Good Life Experience is actually canine friendly and there are even special activities planned for them.

10. Invest in a programme but don’t be a slave to it

Use the programme to have an idea of what you want to do when to get an idea of what’s available but don’t be a slave to a programme: some of the most fun things we did we stumbled upon, like clog dancing!
