There are countless places to visit Father Christmas in Cornwall but here are The Little Pip’s five favourite places to visit Father Christmas in Cornwall.
1. Sugar and Spice Grotto, Bedruthan
Scandi inspired grotto and workshop
“Did you hear the news? Father Christmas has had to do an emergency landing, right here in Bedruthan Hotel! And pieces of his sleigh are scattered all around! Can you help him find the missing pieces to fix his sleigh in time for Christmas?
Come on a magical adventure with us this Christmas: meet Tomte, Astrid, the friendly elves and loveable reindeer in Tummetott village. Enter Festlig Wood lit by candlelight and decorate beautiful wooden Christmas tree decorations to hang on your own tree at home. Visit the Ice Queen in her snow cavern, throw snowballs and make snow angels. Finally, wind your way through the frozen forest to find Father Christmas’s Sugar and Spice Grotto to meet the old man himself and help to fix his sleigh and save Christmas!”

2. Victorian Christmas, Lanhydrock

Visit a Victorian Father Christmas, who wears green robes, in a beautifully decorated room
“See the past come alive at Lanhydrock this Christmas. With just a few special rooms open and decorated, you can come and see how the Victorians prepared for lavish family meals in the kitchen and celebrated this wonderful time of the year.”
Weekends in December. £TBC per child plus booking fee. Admission to the house required, or National Trust membership.

3. Santa by steam, Bodmin and Wenford Railway
“Gather your family and friends and take a journey with the railway elves to visit Santa’s grotto. Arrive at Bodmin General Station for mince pies, seasonal drinks and carols on the platform, before climbing aboard for an hour-long return journey on a beautiful steam hauled train. During the trip you’ll visit Santa, with plenty of time for a photo, and gifts for each child. When he’s not driving the sleigh with Rudolph and the rest of the reindeer, Father Christmas travels by steam train!”
Weekends in December, 23rd and 24th December. £13-£15 per passenger.

4. Christmas at Eden
“There are letters to sort, presents to deliver, and a very important sleigh to prepare. Father Christmas is keen to meet you and your children, so they can help.
Inside the cosy tent you’ll get to see ‘behind the scenes’, including the elves’ bunkbeds, the pigeonholes full of children’s letters, and all the stockings laid out ready for the big day.
After settling down for a story beside an open fire, each child can enjoy a special moment with the man in red.”
Eden also offer pre-bookable relaxed sessions for children with autism spectrum condition, sensory and communications needs or learning disabilities who may benefit from a more informal experience.
Selected dates November and December 2019. Tickets £10 for 1 child + 1 adult, £14 for 1 child + 2 adults, £18 for 1 child + 3 adults, £6 additional child. Please note that you must also purchase Eden Project admission tickets, or hold an Eden Project Membership, Annual Pass or Locals’ Pass if you are going to visit Father Christmas.

5. Christmas at Heligan

The Lost Gardens of Heligan are magical at any time of year, but at Christmas they are extra special.
“Write a letter to Father Christmas and explore the Gardens with our magical Christmas Trail. You and your family will meet Father Christmas and his elves in a cosy setting nestled in the garden. Each child will receive a small traditional gift.
Bookings will include the chance to write a letter to Father Christmas, explore our Christmas Trail, meet Father Christmas and his Elves and enjoy our Christmas workshops”.
Tickets £TBC per child, £TBC per adult plus entrance ticket to Heligan.
