Norfolk is just over 2 hours from London and here are 5 Reasons why you should visit Norfolk with kids.

BeWILDerwood!
BeWILDerwood is a huge, award winning forest of family fun and outdoor adventure. There are treehouses, zip wires, jungle bridges, Crocklebogs, Twiggles and Boggles, storytelling, boat trips, marsh walks and really yummy food! It looks awesome and worth a trip to Norfolk on its own! Just take a look at this video Claire at Tin Box Traveller made and you’ll be sold!
If you do fancy spending some time at BeWILDerwood then you should take a look at staying close to Norwich as it’s only half an hour away. This fabulous riverside property, Four Seasons, with a games room and hot tub set in the hamlet of Thorpe St Andrew on the outskirts of the historic city of Norwich will take some beating. Sleeping 12 in 6 bedrooms it makes for the oerfect family gathering.
If you stay at Four Seasons you are also able to spend some time in Norwich City.
2. Norwich City
Norwich is an elegant and cultural destination, and a UNESCO City of Literature to boot. It’s fantastic for shopping yet rich in medieval architecture with a cathedral, castle and many timber-framed, cobbled lanes to explore. It’s a lovely city to potter around with kids. Not too busy, but with charm and fun things to do.
3. Norfolk Broads
Another big draw for my kids would however be the Norfolk Broads. The Norfolk Broads, now a National Park and renamed The Broads National park, is like stepping into Swallows and Amazons. There is wildlife and birds to see, people can go fishing or you can just sail the waterways. For me it would be fabulous to hire a day cruiser and navigate the waterways perhaps taking some canoes out for the day too!
If we were to do this we could consider staying in Buxton at the Oak House. A fabulous house with space, space galore for family and friends to enjoy all year round. There is also a children’s playroom with a games console, TV and additional games.
Close to Buxton is also
4. Felbrigg Hall
One of the most elegant country houses in East Anglia, the Hall is a place of surprises and delights, a mixture of opulence and homeliness where each room has something to feed the imagination. With story boxes for the children in the hall that help explain some of the history of the house, you can have a lovely family day out here like at other local National Trust houses in the area.
5. Kiss Me Quick Sea Front
There are some fantastic beach spots in Norfolk but but kids love a good ‘Kiss Me Quick Sea Front’ with endless pennies in the slot machines. For this you can’t beat Wells-next-the-sea. As well as wasting endless pennies in the slot machine, you can have pancakes on the pirate ship and of course no visit to Wells would be complete without doing some crabbing! £5 bucket and bait and kids are occupied for hours sitting on the harbour edge.
If you’re going to spend some time on the beach why not look into a beach hut like this one.
82 (The Den) is mid-way along the stretch of huts that grace the stunning wide open sandy beach at Wells-next-the-Sea. The hut looks stunning but is also so very well equipped with a small kitchen, and bench seating with cupboards underneath stocking everything you need to make your daily visit to the beach the very best of times. Sit on the veranda, watch the tide come and go and the world pass by, make yourself something hot to eat or drink, just sit and stare. There are chairs, cooking equipment, a water container (a tap is close by), as well as plenty of toys and games.

Wow all that for only two hours away from London. I would like to go to the beach. I like the pictures of the colorful huts you took. Maybe going there would make me feel less sad all the time.
