So you know I said in this earlier post about Winter Wonderland at Center Parcs, that I love Christmas, well it seems I have got a bit carried away. I started to look at the Christmassy things we could do with our girls and well I seem to have booked quite a lot of them!
First at the very beginning of December we are going to go to Thomas Land. We have some good friends who live in Norfolk and so we don’t see them much. They posted on Facebook that they were visiting Thomasland and I cheekily suggested we went to join them! I had had an itching to go ever since we received this post about how fantastic Christmas is there.
The next weekend we are going to the Lantern Parade at Chester Zoo. Regular readers will know we love the Zoo and I have written an A -Z which you can find here. Friends of ours went to the Lantern parade last year and said it was one of the loveliest Christmas things they did. It’s Mr MT’s birthday so that’s going to be his birthday treat! You can book tickets by clicking here:
We have then (I know I know) booked to go on the steam train at Llangollen with another couple and their little boy. If there are 8 of you, you can for a little more money get your own carriage and enjoy your mince pies and other Christmas treats in the comfort of your own space. All the advice is to wrap up warm but fingers crossed it won’t be too cold by then. Choo choo!
On the weekend before Christmas we have booked to visit our local park and see Santa after a trip on the mini railway. The local train enthusiasts run a train (for donations) every Sunday afternoon (weather permitting) and at Christmas they put on a santa special. Last year it sold out quickly and this year the queue to purchase tickets on the first day was over an hour long. Thankfully it was a lovely day and the kids could play in the park, and go on the train whilst I waited in line.
Finally on Christmas Eve we will go to the crib service at the local church with my family who are coming to stay for Christmas.
We think we may have gone slightly overboard, but hey it will be fun! What do you have planned?
This all looks very exciting. I must get planning something as activities just involve:
1. Go and see Santa somewhere
2. Enchanted Christmas at Westonbirt
3. Walk round neighbourhood to nosy at their lights/Christmas decorations
I’ve spent a fortune Karen, whooops!
Sounds like you love Christmas as much as me!! Although, you’re so much more organised. I’m definitely planning a day to Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland and we’re going to see Stick Man in the west end. I also want to do the Gruffalo’s Child Trail and maybe even the Polar Express, as I do believe!!
For Halloween we’re off to Alton Towers for their scary week – and CBBies land for the little ones.
Love having things planned!! ; )
Hurrah you are definitely a Christmas addict like me!! Still yet to go to CBeebies Land!
I love Christmas too, it’s going to be so much more exciting next year when I have a little one to spoil rotten! All your arranged trips look fab! x
thank you. Christmas definitely becomes special again

There is no such thing as overboard when it comes to Christmas! I have planned to go to Winter Wonderland in Chester and to a panto. But I do a different activity every day in December! I am so excited for Christmas 😀
