Whilst planning a weekend in London with friends we chatted about having an Afternoon Tea but we also debated trying to see some of the sights. I’m in London fairly frequently through the year but rarely find the time to do anything touristy or relaxing.

Rachel, Katie and I decided to make the time for Afternoon Tea instead of seeing the sights but then Rachel found BB Bakery’s Afternoon Tea Bus Tour which seemed like the perfect combination of both.    The day before we were due to head to London Rachel sadly got ill and couldn’t join us, but Katie and I bravely soldiered on!  I mean it would have been rude not to wouldn’t it!

The BB Afternoon Tea Bus leaves and returns to Victoria Coach Station or Trafalgar Square.

Tip: Victoria Coach Station is a good ten minute walk from Victoria Station if you are planning to travel from there.

I love the sight of a London Red Double Decker Bus, but what a treat for that bus to also be filled with amazing goodies. The cakes and sandwiches were beautiful and tasted divine.  There was a lot to eat to start with, but just when you looked like you’d eaten as much as you could they came round with scones and jam, and even more cakes and sandwiches if you could fit them in, they definitely weren’t stingy with the amount of food which I do find with some Afternoon Teas.

My company aboard the bus was delightful, Katie and I actually had time to chat which if we had just been wandering around the sights ourselves might have been harder.  The tea is served in a lovely London beaker and the plates and cutlery are cleverly placed on the table with a material that means they don’t slip – it’s all very clever.

This basic map shows you where the Bus Tour goes. The tour lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes (depending on traffic)… but the time goes so quickly.. it helped that we didn’t stop chatting but moving from sandwiches to quiche, to macaroons to cakes to scones, followed by more tea and juice – well it all takes up time!

My photos aren’t exactly up to scratch as taking photos of the sights out of the window of the bus is pretty tricky but you get the idea from the photos as to what we saw.

The information about the bus tour does state that the tour doesn’t include a guided tour of the sights and so you shouldn’t rely on this, however our guide did talk us through the major sights we saw and was very happy to answer questions from all the women on board!

I would highly recommend this Afternoon Tea Bus Tour to anyone in London looking for a treat for their birthday, hen do or a girly catch up. Katie’s post recommends no better of way of seeing the Christmas Lights and I completely agree. To see what Katie thought, you can read her post here too!

At £45 a head I think it is genuinely good value for a London Afternoon tea. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again, which you can do here, and will recommend to others looking for a way to spend the Afternoon with friends in London whether they are here for a weekend and staying in a London Hotel or just visiting for the day!

Why not PIN the photo below so you can remember to book it next time you’re in London!
