So today I woke up on a ship! Not just any ship but the Anthem Of The Seas the newest cruise ship by Royal Caribbean. I explained in my post before we came how giddy was, but also what I had been worried about! I shouldn’t have worried! It has been fantastic.
We all boarded yesterday morning and have had some fabulous experiences since. A fuller post will follow but the variety of things we have has the chance to do in the last 36 hours warranted an ‘onboard’ post! We are about to go to bed, exhausted but buzzing after so many wonderful experiences for us and our girls.
We arrived just before 11am on Saturday and security was very easy We had checked in online before we arrived and so all they had to do was check our passports against the passes I had already printed, and then check those against our photos. It literally took about ten minutes to board and most of that was walking up the long walkway! You can see how excited the kids were:
The staff all made my three girls feel really welcome, chatting to them, re-assuring them about the scan machines, getting them even more excited about getting on the big ship, and then taking some cute photos of them. They also fitted them with wrist bands which tell all staff which security point to take them to in case of emergency and help them locate us if they do get lost!
We had already bumped into my friend Heledd and her family in the car park and Lily and Lili (both 4) were already firm friends so I knew we were in for a good weekend.
So what have we done?
We have eaten and drunk a lot! We have sampled Jamie’s Italian, Sea Plex Dog House, The Grand Restaurant, Windjammer Marketplace, Milkshakes from the Diner, Sorrento, Silk and The Cafe @ Two 70. We have drunk cocktails, well cocktails from just about everywhere! All in the interests of blog research you understand. Barmen have made us cocktails, but so have robots. Well they tried to make us one, but we decided that 13 minutes was quite a long time to wait so we moved onto the next bar!
We have been flying – I absolutely loved flying and I promise I will tell you more about it in another post. I would do it again in a flash!
We have had a 360 degree view of the sea on the North Star.
We have had massages, the kids have been swimming and paddling, they have spent time in the kids club.
and we have just come home after an evening watching We Will Rock You followed by diner at Silk. Watching that show on board a ship, and I can’t begin to tell you how good it was, and it was on a ship, was just incredible. Definitely the highlight of my trip – It is a ship called The Anthem of the Seas after all! My three girls just LOVED it.
I am shattered, I am a little tipsy, I am a little over excited. I am going to bed happy. Thank you Royal Caribbean for looking after us.
