Blodlina: The Viking Musical – 4.5 stars – don’t miss this fantastically feisty musical
If you are looking for feisty sword fights, strong women and a story of love, pride, war and loss… all accompanied by some great music and songs and a few laughs along the way, then hold onto your seats, there’s a lot to pack into an hour!
Jonah (aged 12) and I were completely captivated, it’s a fast-moving show and you are pulled in right from the start. We travelled back to 900AD where two sisters fight to lead their home land to victory in the aftermath of their father’s death. The mischievous Norse Gods Loki and Thor act as narrators in the production and add a bit of cheeky humour along the way. The music is provided by a live rock band – they are loud and brilliant and really add to the intensity of the performance. The songs are powerful and catchy and the acting is first-class.
It was a drama-filled hour and we enjoyed it immensely.
