We are lucky enough to have a fantastic summer attraction near us on the Wirral, Brimstage Maze.  It usually opens just before the summer holidays and stays open until Mid – September.  For the last few years we have bought a summer pass (£25 per visitor, Under 3’s free) and it therefore becomes our default day trip on even remotely sunny days, as having bought a summer pass it doesn’t matter if we only go along for a couple of hours.  Without a summer pass it can quickly add up, as it costs £6.95 per child and £7.95 per adult.

Whilst Brimstage started as a Maize Maze and they construct a different one every year, we often don’t take one step in the Maze (toddlers aren’t that bothered) as the amount of other attractions on offer to our Mini Travellers is incredible. They also change their offering every year, continually updating and improving the ‘side’ attractions.

So what is there. Well apart from the Maze (deep breath) there are ride on tractors, go karts, bouncy castles, bouncing pillows (amazing), barrel train, zip wire, crazy golf, enormous sandpit, slides, climbing frames, water play, indoor soft play in a huge barn, laser quest, agility trail and so much space to run about in the kids can never get bored. There are picnic benches everywhere and you are encouraged to take along a picnic and set up camp for the day.  Take a scroll through the photos above as I think thy demonstrate what’s on offer much better than I can

So can they do anything better – well yes they can. Me and two friends yesterday did query why we didn’t like going as much as we should and the main reason is because they don’t really make it that comfortable for adults.  The toilets are still portable toilets that at 10.30am are spotless but by 2.30pm are starting to feel like a festival, and their coffee is awful.  I love a proper coffee when I’ve had a bad night (or even a good nights sleep) and I’m afraid the coffee leaves a lot to be desired. But that to me is a small price to pay for a default summer attraction that keeps on giving.

  1. Welcome. For young families the Summer pass sounds like a great deal! Lots to keep the little ones entertained and happy, not sure I like the sound of the toilets or coffee though. Thanks for linking up and sharing with Country Kids.

  2. Wow what a nice place! I wish we have something like this that is this near to the house. I have to confess that the beach is near but since we visited it a lot its not as much fun as before. Amazing place .. hopefully they will be adult friendlier next time =) #countrykids
