Today we spent over 3 hours at Bubbles in New Brighton and the girls still didn’t want to leave.

Visiting soft play on a weekday during term time is always a treat for those of us who have experienced what is better left un described on a wet weekend in winter.  On a weekday soft play is emptier, it is quietish and there are no boisterous bigger children around to overwhelm your pre-schoolers.

Bubbles itself is the epitome of the perfect soft play centre for those with children under 2 or over 3.5/4. In a fantastic location on New Brighton sea front with plenty of free parking to boot.

Under 3’s have their own play area. This isn’t just a token area with a few balls, it has its own slide, a ball pool, mirrors, bubbles and things to play on. When mine were younger it was a fantastic safe area to while away a few hours with other babies with lots and lots to stimulate them.

The large frame is not just large, it is absolutely huge. There is 5 Levels of Fun and games, it is home to over thirty countries and zones. From the Great Wall of China to the Taj Mahal in India, it is Wonderful!!

There is an Olympic assault course, Flags Game, Eye Click Interactive Projector, Squalking Penguins and 2 storey ball cannon zone and over 100 different educational games, tarps and features.

At 4 and 5 mine absolutely adore it. It literally will keep them busy for hours and they love finding their way to the top and coming down the enormous slide (really very very) quickly.

The tricky age with Bubbles can be the 2/3 age. When the kids want to go on the large frame but are a little too shy to do it on their own. If they chance it and get stuck it can be difficult to find them (it really is that big) although there are often Bubbles staff on the frame at busy times looking out for lost children. I have been that parent at soft play and it can be hard.

Bubbles have however done a wonderful (no expense spared) job on their play centre. It’s been open a while now but it still looks new. It’s clean and bright and I don’t mind spending hours in there. Particularly on a weekday when the volume levels aren’t too high.

There is also a Role Play area, a ball pool, games to build and play, the list goes on and on..

We’ve visited in the mornings or late afternoons before and had drinks and coffee (the coffee is very good). A soft play with good coffee is a must in my book. However today we sampled lunch too.

We ordered pizza and pasta (£3.95) for the kids, the pizza being more popular than the pasta but then when isn’t it. I had a tuna wrap and my friend a panini (£4.95) which were both nice. There was lots of choice on the menu including salads and jacket potatoes, and I particularly like the fact that there is a toddler section to the menu too. An animal lunch box for £3.50 and beans and soldiers for only £1.80. Perfect for when the little ones want something but not too much. The kids finished with ice cream (some dairy free options would be a nice addition) and a slushy; our cookies were worthy of a mention.

As I’m writing this my two have disappeared back into the frame: they haven’t come back for ages as they know I want to go home and they don’t want to go yet. When I started writing this I said we had spent 3 hours at Bubbles, it looks like it might now be closer to 4! Great value for the £6 entry fee (£7 at peak times).

NB: We were guests of Bubbles today however all views and opinions are my own. We have been before and will undoubtedly visit again.
