I have heard people wax lyrical about the Church Farm Santa Experience for years!

With kids aged 8, 7 and 7 I feared we had left it too late to get the best out of it, and whilst perhaps the magic does peak at around 4,5 and 6, the Church Farm Santa Experience was still a lovely thing to do.

The Church Farm Santa Experience runs throughout December weekends with rides every twenty minutes from 11am – 7.40pm. You can book tickets here.

Tickets aren’t available for 2021 from Friday 17th September

Children must be supervised by a booked adult at all times.

So what happens at the Church Farm Santa Experience?

After a short video which sets the scene you set off on a pimped up trailer pulled by a tractor to the top of the farm, where those of you familiar with other Church Farm events will know that the Halloween and Easter Egg events take place.

During the ride one of the parents are asked to fill in a short form with some details of the children attending the event which are very cleverly used.

You are welcomed warmly off the trailer and you follow the lights into the wonderfully lit Christmas forest, following the path and the bright lights until you meet Jack Frost.

Jack Frost sets the tone of the event (and possibly the standard of the jokes too) but you can’t help but laugh. The older kids on our tour tried hard to be a bit cool but very quickly settled into the fun too. The night for me was made by a delightful four year old who was sooo excited and asked the best questions. He got me so excited for Christmas and all the festivity ahead.

As you meander through the forest you meet talking mice and reindeers who know what your house looks like, Frosty the snowman and Elves, before meeting the big man himself!

When we met Frosty I was expecting to sing Frosty the Snowman but the Frosty rap was much more fun and got most of the kids dancing.

When you finally meet the big man himself (or one of his helpers if you’re 8) they are still surprised and delighted to find that he knows what they want for Christmas.

It’s moments like this that you dream of in parenting!

The Church Farm Santa Experience is done very well and a lovely way to get young and old into the Christmas Spirit.  One to add to the list of things to do if you haven’t already!

Happy Christmas one and all!
