There is no doubt that Cornwall, with its stunning beaches and breathtaking nature, is one of the most beautiful counties in the UK, but sometimes it can be difficult finding accommodation which caters to families with children. So we have put together the top family friendly places to stay in Cornwall:

1. Bedruthan Hotel & Spa – Family Friendly Accommodation in Cornwall

Just a four minute walk from the beach, on a rugged cliff side in Mawgan Porth, this hotel and spa has fantastic views and is the perfect option if you’re looking for an easy and calm family-friendly holiday on the Cornish coastline. Here, there are multiple types of family rooms to choose from including sea view rooms, sea view villas or large apartment rooms. There is also a clifftop restaurant where you can enjoy a fresh dinner or a bakery breakfast in the mornings. Although spending quality time with your children is a lot of fun, there may be times you need to unwind, and this hotel actually partners with babysitters at the Parent & Child Nanny Agency so you can book a babysitter through Bedruthan’s website. 2. Coombe Mill – A family-run farm holiday hamlet in the North of Cornwall

A family-run farm holiday hamlet in the North of Cornwall, just off Bodmin Moor, Coombe Mill specialises in self-catering family holidays. Not only is it beautiful, with the estate boasting meadows, a lake and river and woodlands, but the lodges, which can sleep four to eight people and even allow dogs, have all the facilities you need including a kitchen, dining area and even a washing machine. The farm also hosts many activities to entertain the children such as tractor rides, a play area, and fishing. 3. Merlin Farm Holiday Cottages – Sustainable self catering holiday cottages in Cornwall

Described on their website as ‘sustainable self catering holiday cottages’, Merlin Farm is, like Bedruthan, located at Mawgan Porth near Watergate Bay on the North Cornwall Coast. This  accommodation is in the countryside and just minutes away from Mawgan Porth beach, a gorgeous sandy haven perfect for sunbathing, sandcastle building, surfing and swimming. The farm overlooks the Vale of Lanherne and is filled with wildlife, such as badgers, deer, bats, owls and pheasants. There are four cottages, all converted farm barns which sleep up to four guests and each has its own enclosed outdoor areas with stunning views. Merlin Farm also emphasises how Eco-friendly they are, with their website stating that they ‘reduce waste, reduce energy consumption, conserve water’ and are ‘sustainable’. 4. Monkey Tree Holidays – award winning caravan and camping holiday park in Cornwall

An award winning caravan and camping holiday park in Newquay, Monkey Tree offers family breaks for those looking for a fun and entertaining holiday but also a great central spot if you are interested in exploring your nearby surroundings. This is definitley one of the most ideal family friendly places to stay in Cornwall, with Perranporth and Newquay just minutes away, the location is fabulous and some of Cornwall’s finest beaches are only a short drive away, including Fistral Beach and Perranporth Beach. There are a range of holiday homes here, you can stay in a caravan or pitch up a tent on their campsite, whatever suits your needs and budget. 5. Gwel an Mor – Scandinavian lodge in Cornwall

Gwel an Mor, in Portreath, offers luxury stays in your own Scandinavian lodge in Cornwall which are equipped with a kitchen and dining area, an open plan living space, a balcony and twin rooms. You can choose between a four or seven night stay, with prices starting from £380 and varying throughout the year. There is also an onsite pool, croquet on the lawn or mountain bikes which can be hired here, as well as a terrace restaurant and a wildlife centre where you can meet foxes, friendly snakes and birds of prey. When it comes to getting out and about, there are many beautiful beaches nearby including Portreath Beach, Lushington Beach and Chapel Porth Beach. 6. Haven Riviere Sands Holiday Park – Breathtaking views of St.Ives Bay in Cornwall

Breathtaking views of St.Ives Bay, heated indoor and outdoor pools, a chance to try paddle boarding and surfing; these are just some of the perks of staying at Riviere Sands for you and your kids. The Haven holiday park, located in Hayle, has an outdoor play area, evening entertainment, an amusement arcade, food and drink venues and a supermarket. In terms of accommodation, you can choose from caravans, lodges, glamping, chalets, apartments and even deck houses. Not only is there lots to do on-site, the port town of Hayle is great for exploring too; from climbing up Trencrom Hill, jumping on a train to St Ives, visiting traditional Cornish pasty shops to sunbathing on Hayle Beach. 7. Bodrean Manor Farm – Family Friendly Farm stay in Cornwall

Another one of the best family friendly places to stay in Cornwall is Bodrean Manor Farm. Just a 10 minute drive from Cornwall’s only city Truro, Bodrean Manor Farm is a great option as it is central but also situated in the beautiful countryside so you can find the perfect balance between relaxing and exploring. The farm has four one-bedroom, stylish, individually designed self catering cottages with open plan living spaces, and a six-bedroom farmhouse. This accommodation is ideal for those of you looking to take your dog as two of the cottages and the farmhouse are pet friendly. Although not as busy as the likes of a Haven park, this stay is in a fantastic location, so if your family’s more interested in sightseeing and visiting new areas, this is the one for you. 8. The Cornwall Hotel & Spa – Family Friendly Hotel in Cornwall

This hotel, located in St Austell Cornwall, is set in 43 acres of green parkland and offers several accommodation options, whether you want a lodge, a family suite or a dog friendly hotel room, it has it all. The family suites sleep a maximum of four guests and include a bedroom with a king size bed, a sitting room with a sofa bed and a bathroom. There are also self-catering lodges in which you can request cots and other baby facilities if you have younger children, and you still get the spa and leisure amenities included in your booking.  There are different kinds of lodges; Gold and Silver, with the Gold option having better views and some with hot tubs. Not only is the accommodation itself lovely, the location is also a main reason to stay here, as St Austell has so much to offer, including The Lost Gardens of Heligan, galleries and museums, boat trips and the stunning South West Coast Path. 9. Deerpark – log cabins in Cornwall

At Deerpark you will find 45 log cabins set deep in a wooded valley, beside an ancient millpond, offering a complete escape from the hustle and bustle. This park is also home to rare plant species and an abundance of wildlife including, as the name suggests, roe deer. All of the cabins come with a hot tub and some also include a gas barbecue, log burning stoves and an outdoor kitchen on the decking. There are lots of family friendly activities on-site for your children to enjoy including a play area, bike hire and woodland walks. Deerpark is also pet friendly so your furry friends can join you on your holiday. Although the accommodation is in the most tranquil of settings, it is just a 15 minute journey from the Cornish coast and the fishing villages of Looe and Polperro. 10. Polean Farm – self catering complex set in farmland

In the coastal town of Looe is this self catering complex set in farmland with four star farm holiday cottages. On their website Polean Farm writes that they aim to provide a fun holiday packed with lots of happy memories for your children to take away. This is one of the perfect family friendly places to stay in Cornwall as they have entertainment including animal handling; such as helping move the guinea pigs, bottle feeding lambs (in the right season) and feeding the goats and chickens, tractor-pulled barrel rides and indoor and outdoor play areas which boast a climbing frame, trampoline and swings. The farm is also a working livery yard and so children and parents may enjoy visiting the horses and ponies each day. In terms of where to stay, Polean Farm has an old farmhouse, several cottages and dog friendly accommodation, it just depends how many of you there are and what your preferred budget is.

11. St Mawes Retreats

This luxurious, self catering accommodation, which we have a whole article dedicated to here, offers the most stunning sea and harbour views and has that 5* feel without the busyness of a hotel. Dreamcatchers House run by St Mawes Retreats, in the traditional Cornish village of St Mawes which can be reached by road from Truro, is situated on a peaceful footpath terrace less than 200 yards away from the waterside. There are lovely touches all around this house such as teddies for the kids on their beds, buckets and spades left on the doorstep and even a bottle of fizz upon arrival! As the house is self catering, it’s also a great idea to order a supermarket delivery so you can cook some meals for the family during your stay. 12. Rumsdale Cottage

Situated in Lanreath near Looe, Rumsdale Cottage, which you can read our full review of here, is based on a farm where there are roosters (which will most likely wake you up in the morning-so be prepared) and donkeys. The cottage includes a fully fitted kitchen that even boasts a Nescafe Dolce Gusto coffee maker, a dining area, three bedrooms with facilities to sleep six plus a travel cot, two bathrooms and a furnished patio and balcony.
