Beating airport security

Ok it’s not the sexiest topic to kick off my new website with but I wanted to write about any easy win we had this year. With 3 children under 4 I have given up any notion of choosing the cheapest airport parking where you have to get yourself and 3 children, 4/5 suitcases, and any associated kit onto a bus at 5 in the morning from a car park off site to save a few pounds.

I either park on site (Can be very expensive) or try and choose a meet and greet service if the cost is comparable. We live near Manchester airport and they have introduced their own meet and greet for each terminal.  I have used this before and it really is quick and easy.  What I hadn’t used before was the ‘plus’ service where for an extra £5 you got to use the speedy line through security.

Last time I flew the airport was quiet so it wouldn’t have been much use, but at 5/6am in the summer you know the airport is going to be filled to the rafters so I paid the extra £5 for the ‘plus’ service.  After waiting half an hour in the check in queue for our Monarch flight with 3 tired little girls who had to get up at 3.30am to drive to the airport, their queuing patience had expired . . .  as had my husbands.

We had to queue at that time of the morning to even get to the part of the line to speedy through security but when we did it took less then 5 minutes, other passengers on our flight reported it took at least an hour.  It was most definitely worth the money and definitely something to make that early morning flight just that little more bearable.
