Film Ideas for both Kids and Adults

Film Ideas for both Kids and Adults

Sharing is caring!

My kids are 8 and 9 and during lockdown we’ve been having Movie Night on a Friday and Saturday night. Loathe to spend our evenings watching the usual cartoon fare that the girls would choose themselves we’ve been trying to introduce them to things we will enjoy too.

So here’s what we’ve already watched and what’s on our list.

I’ll be adding to it with other recommendations as they come in too.

  • The Boy who Harnessed the Wind
  • Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe
  • Aeronauts
  • Groundhog Day
  • Finding Neverland
  • Dumbo
  • Captain Marvel
  • Captain America
  • Apollo 13
  • Armageddon
  • 2012

Watched in the last year or so

  • Back to the Future – 1, 2 & 3
  • Raiders of the Lost Ark
  • Mary Poppins Returns
  • Princess Bride
  • Little Women
  • Labyrinth

Not watched so far but will be doing:

  • Legally Blonde
  • Jurassic Park/World Movies
  • 4 Kids and IT
  • Men in Black
  • Avatar
  • Charlie’s Angels
  • Ironman

Others have suggested we watch

  • Karate Kid
  • Teenwolf
  • Goonies
  • Jaws
  • The Meg
  • National Treasure
  • Twister
  • The Mummy
  • Deep Impact
  • Volcano
  • Independence Day
  • Evan Almighty
  • The Pacifier
  • The kid who would be King
  • Mrs Doubtfire
  • Cool Running

What hasn’t worked for us.

  • Gravity – far too realistic and scary for the kids
