Today we went to the soft opening of the completely newly renovated Ice Cream Farm in Cheshire. They have completely and I mean completely re-done it. The place is completely unrecognisable.
Millions must have been spent to put this place on the map and it will definitely be a must go to for kids this summer holidays.
The enormous play area in the middle of the park will continue to be free for all visitors, as will the farm. The farm wasn’t open today as the animals had been moved off site whilst the renovations took place but they hope to have them back for the opening day, today, Tuesday 21st July 2015.
The biggest difference as a parent you will notice when you visit is that the visit won’t now be free.
We’ve visited quite a few times in the past, and apart from the cost of the ice cream the visit has been free. You’ve always had to pay for the play barn but as it wasn’t that obvious, you could avoid going in. You won’t be able to avoid spending money if you visit this summer; the crazy golf, the go karts, and the brand new Honeycomb Canyon just look too inviting.
Today we could explore to our hearts content. The go karts hadn’t opened yet but the crazy golf looked brilliant. However it was the Honeycomb Canyon that actually took my breath away.
It was perfect for mine aged 3 and 4 and I can imagine it would be perfect for those up to 7. Sandpits, streams, water to jump in, water to play with, water to move around, a climbing wall and all under cover. It will be brilliant all summer, particularly if the weather isn’t good. You just need to take towels and possibly spare clothes! We had neither.
The cost for all the additional activities is a little tricky to work out, but the ‘Play Pass’ will offer visitors discounts on these activities, with cards starting from as little as £10 for four discounted plays. The more visitors pre-pay the more they will save, with the chance to go VIP for just £1 a play- a huge 70% discount! Staff couldn’t quite tell me how much each individual visit would be otherwise but it will be somewhere in the region of £2.50-£3.50 a play.
The full ice cream bar wasn’t fully open, but you could see how big it was going to be. It had hundreds of ice cream choices. The ice cream was as amazing as ever, and we will definitely be back.
One to try this summer and beyond!
Oh Karen this looks fab. I went before the changes were made and loved it then. Must visit – thanks for sharing. Ice cream = win/win! xx
What a fun little place to take the smalls!
It sounds amazing. Sounds like it will all add up too. We usually just pop in for an ice cream when in the area and a little play. We saw part of the makeover in construction last time we visited. I think next time we visit will be a costly one.
I saw the photos of this on your Instagram and wondered where it was as it looked amazing!!! Wish it was closer to us. What a fantastic place for kids! Xx
Wow…it does look totally different! I have always loved it there and it’s good that there are no more options for playing but I always quite liked that we could just nip in for an ice cream…like you say it all looks far too inviting now to just do that! My boys would love it though, we’ll be trying to visit this summer xx
This looks like a great place to go and visit, they really have put a lot of thought into the new design of the place. It’s great that there’s lots of new areas to explore and that they’ve kept some parts of the farm free to visit. That Honeycomb Canyon looks like a truly magnificent place to visit, I bet your kids loved it in there splashing around for hours! Thanks for linking up with me on Country Kids.
This looks amazing – and what fantastic photos. I hadn’t been before and unfortunately we couldn’t make the relaunch but definitely one for the list #countrykids
Love the indoor and outdoor facilities! You can go here at any weather! #countrykids
Wow what a transformation. They must have spent some serious money on it. We often go to the ice cream farm as I like that they have something for everybody. My 12 year old loves going into the arcade area that is hidden upstairs (fingers crossed they still have it). Great review and off to put it on my list for the summer. Will probably combine it with a Crocky Trail trip #countrykids x
