So is Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Disney Worth It? Is it?
Let’s start by saying that there are three packages at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and the basic package starts at $59.95 for an hour of pampering. That’s the basic package which is why the question posed is – Is Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Worth It?
The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique promises a pamper session like no other. A dash of glamour or pampered for the ball, the Fairy Godmothers-in-training will “cast the perfect spell”.
We plumped for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Magic Kingdom, right in the Castle, but there is location in Disney Springs too. We (I) booked our appointment times 90 days out, when we booked our meals too, and there was limited availability so if you want to do it, you need to book early too.
We did Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique on our first day at Magic Kingdom, which had already been amazing due to lunch in Cinderella’s Castle. The girls had seen the boutique whilst waiting to go into lunch and were pretty excited to say the least when they went in. Well actually two of them were, one had started to feel really quite unwell.
First they picked their hairstyle from the following styles:
- Fairytale Princess
- Disney Diva
- Color Star
There is a cute little leaflet with pictures of the styles and each girls ‘own’ Fairy Godmother in training discussed with them what they wanted. Whilst we had been waiting, Lily had decided on Fairytale, Izzy on Disney Diva and Evie on Color Star. At the last minute Izzy changed her mind to Fairytale Princess and off the godmothers went.
We had picked the Crown package and in fairness to Disney they didn’t make the more expensive options obvious to the girls:
The Crown Package (starting at $59.95 plus tax)
- Hairstyling
- Shimmering make-up, face gem
- Princess sash and tote
- Nail polish
The Courtyard Package (starting at $94.95 plus tax)
- Hairstyling
- Shimmering make-up, face gem
- Princess sash and tote
- Nail polish
- Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique T-shirt
- Trendy tutu
The Castle Package (starting at $194.95 plus tax)
- Hairstyling
- Shimmering make-up, face gem
- Princess sash and tote
- Nail polish
- Complete costume of your choice plus accessories (shoes not included)
We had taken their favourite costumes with us so as you can see we saved $140 per child on costumes!
The other thing that stood out to me, was how lovely the godmothers were with the girls. So kind and chatty as they turned our girls into princesses.
Two of mine (the girlier two) couldn’t get enough of the whole experience. Unfortunately Evie got sick (she had something for a few days after that) and didn’t want the make up and cried because they hadn’t understood that she didn’t want it. They couldn’t have done enough to try and fix it, but she really wasn’t a happy bunny which you can see from the limited photos and the ones she is trying to pose on later.
Lily and Izzy literally beamed the whole way through, they felt incredibly special and I can see in their eyes how amazing they thought it was.
What was also wonderful was having the Memory Maker and therefore the photographers taking loads of photos we were going to be able to keep.
When the experience ended I asked if there was a place we could have a photo taken of all three girls together and we were shown happily to the shop next door where a photographer was waiting to take some staged photos of the three of them, again all for ‘nothing’ as they were already included in our Memory Maker package.
Do I like the end result? To be honest I love the more relaxed photos of my girls better. I think they look prettier without make up and without all the fuss BUT this isn’t an every day occurrence, we aren’t going to start entering them in beauty competitions, so for a one off, during our Disney experience, yes it absolutely was worth it!
Eve’s Colour Star also lasted for days and of the styles I think it was my favourite – although slight more punk than princess!
I actually thought this experience was a lot more expensive (I thought £200 was the minimum) so I 100% think it was worth it – after all, it’s not something you would do every day!
I bet this was such a lovely experience for them. It is a lot less then I thought that it would be, although I probably would have opted for the cheaper package too and just brung my own outfit. I am so booking this for my little girl when we go xx
