As you can see from the fabulous image above there’s plenty of outdoor excitement to be had in Kissimmee, from ziplining to airboat tours to hot air balloon rides. You can explore the pristine beauty of natural landscapes and lose yourself in “old” Florida scenery. Each of these outdoor excursions put you in the middle of all the excitement.

Air Excursions: For a unique bird’s-eye view of the area, soar in a hot air balloon, fly a jet airplane or take the controls of a WWII-era fighter plane. Get carried away on a hot air balloon with Orlando Balloon Rides. Take in sunrise and sights of Kissimmee from the air and enjoy a champagne toast upon landing. Fly in a legendary WWII P-51 Mustang at Stallion 51 or become a fighter pilot for an afternoon at Warbird Adventures.

Airboat Rides: Kissimmee is located at the headwaters of the famous Florida Everglades. Glide through the waters of this unique wetland ecosystem on a thrilling airboat ride as you search for wild alligators, birds and turtles. With speeds reaching up to 45 miles per hour, you are sure to feel the rush. Boggy Creek Airboat Rides, Wild Florida Airboats & Wildlife Park, Marsh Landing Adventures and Spirit of the Swamp provide some of the best views of these natural wetlands.

Ziplining: Zip through the treetops at one of three Kissimmee-area locations. Fly over hundreds of alligators at Gatorland’s Screamin’ Gator Zip Line. Swing through the tree tops at Orlando Tree Trek where you’ll put your mental and physical skills to the test. Experience some unique twists at Forever Florida Ziplines & Adventures in the Wild, a 4,700-acre nature preserve and wildlife conservation area. In addition to a traditional zip tour, they are also home to an EcoPark with four zip attractions including Rattlesnake, the first zipline roller coaster in the country and Peregrine Plunge, the longest straightaway zipline in Florida.

Paddling: Get close to Florida’s natural beauty by spending the day at The Paddling Center at Shingle Creek. This new eco-attraction offers a variety of ways to enjoy natural Florida from tandem kayaks, single kayaks, aluminum canoes, large paddle boards and even an electric boat. Basic paddling instruction is provided prior to launching and no previous paddling experience is necessary. It is the perfect retreat and a serene break from the action-packed theme parks.

Segway Tours: Glide through Celebration and explore the villages and nature trails while you discover native wildlife along a modern self-balancing marvel. With ZE Segway tours, be amazed at the ease of gliding on a Segway and tour Central Florida in a whole new way.

Fishing: Kissimmee has a large number of lakes and is world renowned for its largemouth bass fishing. Home to the upper Kissimmee Chain of Lakes, which is comprised of East Lake Tohopekaliga, West Lake Toho, Cypress Lake, Lake Hatchineha, and the largest lake in the chain, Lake Kissimmee. These lakes have approximately 80,000 acres of fishable waters and contain a large population of black bass and some of the largest bass found in the world.

Nature Trails: Walk in the footsteps of ancient explorers, spot exotic birds and marvel at the lush green landscapes that surround the trails of Osceola County. Kissimmee offers some of the best hiking, biking and riding trails, perfect for outdoor enthusiasts. Several nature trails act as your guide through expansive preserves and lush landscape, home to vibrantly colored vegetation, wildlife and scenic views unlike anywhere else.

Parks: A day at the lake is a day like no other here in Kissimmee. There’s just something about the sunlight sparkling on the water that makes you smile for no particular reason. Spending a day outdoors at our parks and lakes can have that effect on you. Dozens of lakeside parks offer picnicking areas, playgrounds, walking paths, boat ramps, camping and host a variety of events throughout the year. Kissimmee Lakefront Park located in downtown Kissimmee along the shores of scenic Lake Tohopekaliga offers a three-mile paved trail for walkers and joggers, basketball court, BBQ grills, boating, fishing pier, horseshoe pits, playground and volleyball court. It makes the perfect spot for a picnic in the sunshine. At Shingle Creek Regional Park, immerse yourself in a quiet retreat with countless citrus trees and winding hiking trails. Bring your own kayak or canoe to Steffee Landing and explore two miles of Shingle Creek.
