As my husband is half French we’re keen for the girls to spend time in the country and have a taste of their family heritage. We stayed in Uzes a few years back, when Dom proposed and fell in love with this beautiful area in the South of France. After I managed to get us the flights and a car, I had the more difficult challenge of finding our accommodation.

I knew I wanted to hire a house/ apartment and not stay in a hotel – as we’re a family of four and need more space than a hotel room can offer. I’d heard so many people rave about AirBnB but had never used it myself, so I thought I’d start there. After spending a few hours on the app and sending a few emails, I’d managed to secure two amazing properties, both with a private pool and situated just outside Uzes. One was an antique filled apartment with a roof terrace, in the countryside and the other was a recently renovated 18th Century village house.

Our first stop was the apartment in Les Elzears, which was just beautiful. We had a two bedroom apartment, with a kitchen, bathroom, dining room and a private roof terrace and was decorated using French antique furniture and accessories. We spent nights on the roof terrace staring up at the star filled sky and days in the large, dreamy garden and next to the beautiful pool.  Here are the pictures from Les Elzears…
