I have wanted to visit since forever and I finally booked us into a campsite with all intentions of going whatever the weather! Our campsite offered a 30% off tickets and we decided that for a few pounds extra we could get two days around the park and boy did we need it! For 2 adults 1 x 9yr old child and a 2 yr old (under 5’s go free!) the cost was just over £70 which I think was well worth it.
Best Bits…
Feeding the animals! We got to feed Giraffes, Sealions, Deer and Larakeets! Even though we had to pay a bit extra £1-£3 it was well worth it. My favourite was feeding the sealions and the larakeets were fab!
Holding the animals! My daughter and husband got to hold two snakes and a tarantula. There was a little bit of queuing but not too long!
The Boat ride on the lake was fab and feeding the sealions. We also got to see a Gorilla climb a tree (apparently very rare!) and the hippos! Best time to go first or last thing of the day as the queue was huge!
Had so much fun in the Deadly Challenge running around trying to answer questions and find the right area – exhausting!
My daughter said she liked everything but really enjoyed the King Arthur mirror maze even my 2yr old did too!
Think my 2 yr old enjoyed the Postman Pat Village. Its not massive but kids can get pretend letters from the shop to post which he enjoyed and a surprise visit from Pat himself!
There was plenty to do all day from walking the maze, riding the train, seeing the animals in the Safari park and in the other part where the penguins, meerkats, birds, farm animals, little animals were!
Bad Bits…
Those monkeys ripped off the back piece of our water squirter – well what do you expect? It was so much fun though watching them jump on the car and climb all over – my husband managed to get a selfie with a monkey! 🙂
Probably that it was a lot of walking! I don’t think there were any really bad bits. We did eat at the park on the second day for tea as there was a special offer and I suppose it was reasonable but we were hungry! There is a massive outdoor picnic area but nowhere inside!
Some of the Postman Pat Village was looking a bit worn!
Tips:
If its hot take the kids swimwear and towel or spare clothes. There is a hidden water play area in the castle bit!
Take a picnic!
Get a two day pass!
