This October we went to Blackpool primarily to see the illuminations but we combined that with a visit to Madame Tussauds and some of the other attractions Blackpool has to offer too.  There isn’t a lot to write about with Madame Tussauds as it’s a very visual attraction, so this will mainly be a post of photos.

However it is deserving of a short note on what tickets to buy.  It work out £3 a head cheaper if you book online before you go with tickets starting at £10.50 a head for children and family tickets are cheaper still.

Adult* £16.50 online £13.00

Child* £13.50 online 10.50

Group of 4* £54.00 online £43.00

However if you’re going to be in Blackpool for longer than a day you should probably consider buying one of the combination tickets as they really do save you money. It is worth planning this too, as The Big Ticket for 7 attractions is 50% cheaper per person if you book online. £92.95 on the day for an adult or £45 online.

Does it work for kids. yes definitely although the attraction is probably slightly better for slightly older children than mine (mine are 5 and 4) and although they had fun, mine didn’t recognise most of the waxworks figures.  That certainly didn’t stop them copying the poses though and trying to copy their faces! It’s great that Madame Tussauds is interactive and you are encouraged to take selfies with the waxworks and pose with them; this means the kids can enjoy themselves without the continual ‘don’t touch that’ being shouted.

We spent just over an hour in Madame Tussauds including having a drink in the Rovers Return!

We received free entry into Madame Tussauds but were not obliged to blog about our trip and all views are my own.

  1. I’ve never been to one but would absolutely love to! There’s one in Sydney so will have to try next time we’re there. Prince William looks like a wrong ‘un there – they need to melt him down and start again perhaps ha ha! Kate looks good though and your minis are adorable 🙂 Mim x #sundaystars

  2. We love the Madame Tussauds in Blackpool, and enjoyed it more than the London one as it was far too busy. My kids were 11 and 7 when we last went and they loved getting there pictures took with the waxworks. What a huge difference booking the big ticket online rather than on the day x
