One of the questions I often get asked is how can I make my holiday with kids that little bit easier. So here are some of my top tips.
1. Get sun tan cream that is easy to put on and works for you. Whether that is a spray one like P20 or a cream that’s easy to rub in like the Green People one. It will make your life easier, it this isn’t dreadful every time you do it.
2. Invest in some UV rash vests. The more covered up the kids are, the less cream you need to put on. My kids lived in these on our recent holiday.
3. Take terry towelling cover ups to throw over the top of them when you’ve been to the pool or the beach. We love these ones by Platypus. We also used this Cuddletwist loads on holiday for getting their hair dry. It’s also fab at home after swimming.
4. Make sure you use the right type of floats for your kids so you know they are safe in the pool. This will make it much more relaxing for you. Over the last few years we have used yellow rings (when they were babies), armbands, UV float suits, SwimFin.
5. We often take a blow up bed in the suitcase in case the set up of beds doesn’t work. This gives us the option to sleep our eldest on the floor in our room if there are only two bedrooms. We use the Shrunks Junior Travel bed which you can buy from places like Jo Jo Maman Bebe and it’s really light and very easy to inflate. It’s also apparently very comfortable and the girls fight to sleep on it.
6. Using iPads loaded with favourite TV programs or something like Tablet TV which lets you record live TV, such as Cbeebies and other kids programmes to watch later on. Tablet TV is perfect for keeping your little ones entertained on long car journeys or flights. It’s also good if you want to camp or watch TV in the great outdoors as there’s no reliance on 3G, 4G or WI-FI – all you need is to be near a TV signal.
7. Take drink cups’ with you that don’t spill and keep them topped up. We have these ones by Camelbak and Aladdin. They went everywhere with us on holiday. It meant we always had a drink for the kids (and for us). We could buy a large bottle of water if we were out and just fill them up.
8. Take colouring books and pens for those moments in the shade, or maybe some play doh. Something easy to pack and simple to play with, just to keep them out of the sun. On our last holiday we took some card too and made those.

Good tips. Long UV Swimming costumes are a must for us too! Arm bands have been a bit of a lifesaver this year too! Love the picture of your girls in their towels – so adorable. #pocolo
Great tips! We particularly like the UV rash suits….means you’re not constantly running around putting suntan lotion on! #PoCoLo P.s your girls are so lucky to be going on all these wonderful adventures! So cute!
Thank you! You just reminded me to pack armbands for Tin Box Tot for our holidays! I should really also invest in some UV rash vests – I’m really paranoid about sunburn! #pocolo
Those UV rash vests are a great idea, my little boy has inherited my pasty white skin so the less skin on show the better! We also have a swimfin, I think he would wear it in the bath if he could!! #summerdays
Really fab tips – and some thing I hadn’t thought of. Love that bed, looks fantastic. I have never heard of the UV rash vests but they look brilliant! Thanks for sharing on #SundayStars

Great tips. I’d recommend planning days out in advance so you don’t end up wasting time wandering or driving looking for things to do!
These are fantastic tips, and I love all your gorgeous, sunny photos of your beautiful girls too.
Thanks so much for sharing on #SummerDays and #SundayStars
Great tips here as always!
We have used P20 for over a decade, I love that it doesn’t need to be reapplied during the day.
I’m going to have to look into that TabletTV. that sounds like the exact thing that I need for our kids!
Thanks for linking up with #summerdays xxx
