Sharing is caring!

We have created this toddler bucket list.  On it is places we would like to visit and things we would like to do.   With our eldest now nearly 5 and the twins nearly 4, travelling has been challenging (see our Adjusting Expectations post) but is getting easier every day.

So where do we want to go and what do we want to do? Our top ten are as follows:

Toddler Bucket List

1 Visit Disney World in Florida. We know we could have been already but we want to wait until they will all definitely appreciate it and be less tired. Maybe next year.

2 Meet Santa in Lapland – Oh how we want to go. We are considering Christmas 2015.  Any tips would be really appreciated.

3 Glamping. Possibly Pot-a-Doodle or Stanley Villa Farm like Five Adventurers, possibly Grey Willow Tree Yurts like some friends. Or maybe somewhere completely different, where have you been.

4 Martinhal in Portugal. We have heard so many good things we really want to try it. If you’ve been let us know. {We won’t be doing this this year as we’ve booked to go back to Mousses in Lefkas which we have never ever done!}

5 Visit Coombe Mill – It looks like an incredibly special place and there are so many recommendations, we must go. We maybe need to combine with a two week trip to Cornwall and visit Bedruthan or Retallack or maybe even Gwel-an-Mor.  Oh or Bosinver, so many options.

6 Peppa Pig World (well maybe we don’t specifically, but we know the Mini Travellers will). When we go we will definitely be following the tips by Mummy to Boyz in their really helpful How to Survive trip review.

7 Periyali, Zante – The first creche and children’s club Simpson Travel did and given the success of our Mousses holiday which was practically perfect. We definitely want to try it.

8 Butlins – Just for Tots Week. This one will be more difficult as Mr Mini Travellers really doesn’t fancy it. I can’t persuade him that it has changed.

9 A festival with the Mini Travellers. I had thought this might be the Just So Festival as it is just down the road from us, and Baby Isabella made us really want to go, but our first festival is going to be Geronimo Festival at the end of May. We can’t wait.

Top Tips for Just So Festival 2019

10 Skiing (Not just for Daddies). We can’t believe we managed to tick this one off the list this year!! Here is our post if you haven’t seen it!

So what are we going to replace number 9 and 10 with? Now we have actually been skiing – who would have thought it- and the festival is in two weeks. We need to add more to our list.  Helpfully last week I received an email from Love Holidays which attached a link to their bucket list.

We printed the list off this morning before pre-school and as I was reading out the list, all 3 ticked off what they wanted to do, trying to find the letter it started with! Educational breakfast this morning!

So what did they choose.

Lily chose Visit Walt Disney World which is already on the list.

Izzy chose See Disney on Ice (yes you can see a theme here!)

Eve chose Have lunch with a Disney Princess

Mmm this is going to be expensive!!

NB: This post was created in collaboration with Love Holidays.

  1. Great list, but I have to admit it’s me that really wants to go to Peppa Pig world – I saw a review on someone’s site (I’ve completely forgotten who’s!) and it looked flipping mint!! The Just so festival, looks really great too, I fancy a bit of that too 🙂

    Thanks for linking in hxxx

  2. Aww what a nice idea to have a toddler bucket list!! That picture of the glamping place looks fantastic, like a little fairy house…bound to be a hit with all the family!

Good luck with the list 🙂

  3. What a great list!!

I want to do all of the above apart from Peppa Pig or Butlins but might add Cbeebies Land instead! I think travelling with little ones is stressful but rewarding and it’s so great to do new things as a family.

  4. What a brilliant list! Hopefully you will be #loudnproud when you’ve got to the bottom of it! We were determined to go skiing and eventually got there just 2 years ago – now we’ve got the bug for sure! We’ve been to a Yurt Farm in Wales which was fabulous if a little cold at easter time 😉

  5. Oooh I love this list. A lot of these would make our bucket list too, especially Lapland, I would love to take Luca there as I love Christmas. This is the first time I’ve visited your blog and I’ll definitely be back. 🙂

  6. Wow, this is a great list. I love camping, Hubby doesn’t. I really want Pumpkin to experience it though, so I’m figuring camping might be the compromise. I’ll have to take a look at the places you linked to. #brillblogposts

  7. Great idea to have a toddler bucket list. I have problems with my OH going anywhere. He’s coming on our first family holiday next week with us…since I was 7.5 months pregnant!

  8. Brilliant list.
I am hoping to persuade hubby to let us go to Disneyland when Emily is old enough to be able to appreciate it as well as Freyja, and EVERY time I linky up to #CountryKids I want to go to Coombe Mill more and more.

  10. 1, 2 and 5! Yes! On our list too.
I spent six years working in travel so we got some mega discounts and are pretty well travelled but would both LOVE to go to Disney World in Florida… one to wait until the little miss is a big miss maybe 🙂
Great post. Really enjoyed reading xxx

  11. Love this list! Glamping definitely, I would go for a yurt with wooden floors I reckon but not sure where! We’ve just bought a caravan so that will be a first for us next year, let’s see how that goes. I’d love to go to Portugal, maybe the Algarve, and Sicily. We went to Barcelona with a 20-month-old and found it was fab, he loved the parks, the food and simple stuff like riding on the bus! Thanks for linking up #sundaystars

  12. You are much more adventurous than me Karen! Sadly my hubby is very much a homebody so trying to persuade him to go abroad is proving difficult!
We do enjoy camping, even did it when we had a 3 month old! I really wouldn’t mind a bit of glamping though!

  13. Great list! Just discovered it – Martinhal is amazing if you get chance to go, and just perfect for kids. My daughter was teething viciously when I was there, and the staff were fantastic at making her feel better, and no-one batted an eyelid when she screamed the place down over lunch. Plus I had cocktails and a spa treatment to recover 🙂

Lapland is wonderful too. I went pre-baby and it’s beautiful but cold, and so much to do. I’d be tempted to wait until they’re a bit older and try husky rides etc though.

  14. Fab idea, we also want to go to Lapland. Sooooo much! Be interested to see what information you get… I’ve been told that it’s best to wait until children are a little older. I hope you get to do all these things and more… of course skiing is now a dead cert 🙂

  15. This is such a fab list. I share many of the same dreams- Disney, glamping, Lapland and of course Peppa Pig land. I think Peppa will be the only one in our sights for the moment sadly but hopefully one day we will be able to tick all of those off our list.
Congrats again on being a Mark Warner Mum, totally deserved. xx

  16. 1 and 2 is a definite aim for my family although I doubt we’ll make any of these this year though, we have our house to redecorate! It’s great you have a list, you can tick them off one by one 🙂

  17. Great list! You have so many adventures with your little ones I hope you get to tick off a few more in the next couple of years. Would love to try Glamping with my boys, might not be quite brave enough for that yet though! Coombe Mill always looks great too xx

  18. What a great bucket list! We did Peppa Pig World last year for our son’s 2nd birthday and even I was caught up in the magic so I can’t begin to imagine how he felt! We’d love to go to CBeebies Land but living on the South Coast means it would be quite a long journey even for a weekend. One day I hope we can take him to see the real Santa in his grotto. 🙂

  19. Love this list – there’s a few places on there I’d love to visit although several are out for us as Jessica can’t fly due to her heart condition. Peppa Pig World is amazing – we have a day out there with the other Ocean Ward heart families each year and the girls love it. Looking forward to hopefully going again in a few weeks. My hubby needed persuading to go to Butlins as well and really enjoyed our holiday there before Sophie arrived.

  20. This is a great list! We are doing number 1 this year and I am even more excited that the toddler! We’ve done Peppa Pig World which the toddler (and the six year old) were more excited about than me. Would love to take them skiing – I think perhaps next year they will be old enough to enjoy it (and not make it too much like hard work for us!)
