Muddy Pirates on Hoylake Beach

Sharing is caring!

Just before Christmas we had taken a lovely walk out to Hilbre Island on a really sunny but cold day. Half way out to the Island we realised that one of the kids boots had split and were leaking, and another pair were just too short to stand up to the walk through the sea.  Queue old boots thrown in the bin on our return home and new boots were needed. Muddy Puddles helpfully sent us these fab Puddlestomper Wellies to try and I have to say the kids are thrilled with them.  They are described on the website as having grippy soles to stop slipping in mud and being fully lined for cosy toes.  Both statements seem to be totally true.

We put them to the test this weekend as we had some friends up to stay with us from London, and we tried to spend as much of our time on the beach as we could.  We spent an afternoon on Formby Beach, and had a failed attempt to see the Gormley statutes on Crosby Beach (it was dark, raining and cold by the time we got there) but we did have a lovely time on Sunday morning on our local beach in Hoylake on the pirate ship.  When you’re five and under who needs much more than some wellies and a pirate ship!

  1. The wellies look great on the girls, I need new ones for the twins (yet again, they grow too quick) so will check these out! Love the look of that pirate ship, it’s on our list to visit when we get a nice-ish weekend. The statues at Crosby are so good but it gets really, really cold there. Last time we went we managed 10 minutes on the beach!

  2. It’s great that you got some Puddlestompers from Muddy Puddles, they really are brightly coloured and fun for kids. It’s great that you’ve managed to get out and put them to good use, it’s a shame that you didn’t make to to Crosby Beach though. That pirate ship looks like the perfect place to stop and make the most of the fresh air. Thanks for linking up with me on #CountryKids.

  4. Oh I am quite jealous of those wellies, my kids would love them, they look funky and they seem to have a great grip, which is always a problem with my kids.
Looks like a lovely time outdoors! #CountryKids

  5. Beautiful photos! That pirate ship looks very cool and the perfect place to show off lovely new wellies. I especially love the yellow wellies, they are really cute and a bit different to the normal colours and patterns.
Thanks so much for linking up your lovely wellies to #wWhatevertheweather 🙂 x
