Ho! Ho! Ho! It’s that time of year when the nights start drawing in, the central heating goes on and the Christmas decorations arrive in the shops. On every parent’s to do list is getting the children to write to Santa and plan a Santa visit, oh and don’t forget the advent calendar!

Father Christmas at Tatton Park Farm, Knutsford

Saturdays and Sundays: 30 Nov – 1 Dec, 7 – 8 Dec, 14 – 15 Dec, 21 – 22 Dec. 11am – 4pm (last entry 3pm)

A holiday favourite, children can meet Father Christmas and his elf helpers along with our rare breed farmyard friends. Music from choirs and brass bands fill the air, and there’s a children’s entertainer and storytelling to enjoy. Don’t forget to pose on Santa’s sleigh for a photo and visit Aunt Mary in her cosy cottage.

Reindeer Prancer and Dancer will take centre stage in the traditional live nativity,. Have a go at making your own magic reindeer feed in the restored Mill. Afterwards you can head out to the outdoor den building area and playground to burn off some excitement!

£7 per adult, £6.50 per child (includes a gift from Father Christmas)* No pre-booking, pay on the day.

Winterfunland, EventCity, intu Trafford Centre

Winterfunland tickets are all inclusive and include access to the following great attractions, all undercover at EventCity:

  • Manchester’s largest real ice ice-skating rink
  • A magical festival circus
  • A gigantic indoor funfair
  • Spectacular Christmas panto
  • Santa’s Grotto

Sessions last 4 hours, please arrive early so you are able to go on as many attractions as possible in your allotted session.

SANTA’S GROTTO

This years’ grotto will be placed next to the Winterfunland entrance and will be open 30 minutes prior to the session times to allow visitors to see Santa before their session time begins. Purchasing additional fast-pass tickets will allow families to have a guaranteed visit with Santa within a 15 minute allocated timeslot. These are limited and if you wish to take advantage, please purchase these at the time of booking tickets.

Santa Special on the East Lancs Railway

30 Nov1 Dec, 7 Dec, 8 Dec, 14 Dec, 15 Dec, 19 – 24 December

From 30th November, start your festive celebrations with a steam train ride through the Irwell Valley, on what has become a firm family favourite in the North West.  Festive delights include a traditional brass band and carol singing on board, festive characters and on-board magician, as well as meeting Santa and his elves as they travel through the train. This year our elves have been busy spreading even more sparkle and have come up with some exciting new additions to your festive family day out. These include a chocolate lolly and bespoke Activity Pack for children all presented in a beautifully branded ELR bag – the perfect souvenir!
