Ready steady colour by Oxford Playhouse was just as advertised – comical and extremely creative for all. When we first signed up to go I didn’t really know what to expect but willing of course (given the reviews) to give it a go.
We arrived in Huddersfield shopping centre to an extremely warm welcome from the ‘Head Chef’. We sat down at our table and straight away the comedy started. One of the waiters came over with the menus and dropped them everywhere and then shortly after dropped the aprons. My 6 year old was very quickly calling him butter fingers and giggling his little head off.
This was a pop up ‘restaurant’ in the shopping centre where you order off the menu a pretend plate of food and the children colour in that plate being as creative as they like whilst being comically entertained.
We proceeded to order off the menu and then the ‘show’ began. The team of 3 sang songs, took part in comedy sketches and for a solid hour entertained both the children and adults. The could even sing and play guitar very well!
Our 6 year old giggled all the way through he thought it was hilarious!! The 2 year old loved getting creative with the colours and painting and us adults loved watching the children enjoy themselves.
My husband got involved in one comedy sketch too much to the delight of the children.
An excellent day out thoroughly enjoyed by all! Would love to go to something similar in the future! If you see anything put on by Oxford Playhouse I would highly recommend it.
Review by Pauline and her family.
Looks like you guys had a great time! I love the photo of your six year old at the end – he looks so proud! We went as well and the kids loved it, Lily still plays with her take out food.
