I haven’t been on a caravan holiday for years but when we got the opportunity to stay in the luxury Belle Aire Holiday Park in Norfolk a few minutes from the beach in Norfolk, we jumped at the chance as it sounded like a perfect weekend break for our family.
We have two kids under 5, (and a 6 month old puppy), and Belle Aire Holiday park in Hemsby is both child and dog friendly. Run by the same family since 1971, they have a large play area as well as nightly entertainment, a restaurant and a small shop.
Some of the caravans and chalets on the site are privately owned but Belle Aire has recently refurbished a few of the chalets, which now look very bright and contemporary inside. They also have a selection of brand new luxury caravans. We stayed in one of the new 3 bedroom caravans and were really impressed by the comfortable beds, the central space and the storage. We even had plenty of room for our puppy’s crate in the living area.
The beach at Hemsby is just a few minutes walk away and the village has several amusement arcades amongst other amenities. However we spent most of our time at nearby Winterton Beach, just a short 10 minute drive away as it was dog friendly. We particularly liked Dunes Café there and can highly recommend their food.
There are plenty of attractions close to Hemsby, from Horsey beach, which is famous for it’s seal population to the Norfolk Broads. As well as the local beaches, there are also plenty of places to visit with children not far away including treetop adventure park BeWILDerwood and Sea Zoo in Great Yarmouth.
Belle Aire has nightly entertainment in the restaurant, including bingo, karaoke and entertainment for the kids. However our boys were too young for this and as our caravan was quite near to the restaurant, we did find the loud noise at night really disrupted both their sleep and ours.
If you are looking for a family (and dog) friendly holiday or weekend break in a luxury caravan or chalet on a holiday park right by the seaside, with friendly staff, entertainment and access to Norfolk’s beaches and attractions, I’d definitely suggest you take a look at what Belle Aire Holiday Park has to offer.
Our stay at Belle Aire Holiday Park was complimentary but all views and opinions are my own.
