A review of our experience with Keen Walking Boots for kids and why the Terradora walking shoes are now a firm favourite in our house.
Over the last few years we’ve had quite a lot of Keen Sandals and will wax lyrical about them to anyone who will listen. Friends and family have all bought them on our recommendation and I know a lot of you have too.
We’ve had the Keen Moxie version of the sandals and the Keen Newport sandals – and we’ve even had Keen Waterproof Boots too. Yes it’s true that these shoes have been sent to us to review but shoes aren’t something you can keep wearing if they don’t suit what you’re trying to do, or they hurt your feet. Adults won’t put up with wearing shoes like that, and children certainly don’t. Which is why I’m delighted to add Keen Walking Shoes to the Packing for Africa with kids list.
We got the Keen Terradora Walking Shoes about 3 weeks before we went to Tanzania and I asked the kids to wear them as much as they could before we went. There is nothing worse than new shoes on holiday if they are going to hurt, but from the first day the kids put their Keen walking shoes on they had no issue with them at all.
We even spent a full day in the Lake District when they had only had a couple of wears and they literally bounced around in them. They seem to be as comfortable to them as trainers just with more support.
So comfortable were they, that we didn’t even take another pair of trainers with us (a departure from previous years) we simply took the Keen walking boots which they travelled in too, and their Keen waterproof sandals.

CARE
Gently brush the footwear with a soft, damp sponge to remove loose dirt and restore surface. Stains should be treated immediately with a gentle cleaner.
So I’m not sure I understand all of that (save for the waterproof, comfortable, washable bit) but basically I think they are really good, really good value for money and totally recommended!

They sound great we’ve just bought some Keen Sandals but I’m looking for walking shoes for Mexico – do you think they would be good in the heat? I remember walking boots in Costa Rica and there was nothing worse than sweaty feet after jungle walking (and the infections after 3 years of it!!!)
