When we embarked on our very first family skiing holiday last Christmas, we were at first a little overwhelmed with what gear we would need for our three children.

We wanted to be completely prepared and after some extensive research, we worked out the essentials we would need for everyone and we were thrilled when Muddy Puddles gifted us three complete outfits for our kids aged 9, 6 and 3.

Georgie wears their 3-in-1 Scampsuit.

This is fully waterproof and comes with a removable fleece inner suit (which is super soft and snuggly like a babygro). The hood is sherpa lined and it comes with a protective dual storm flap, to keep out the elements.  I knew from previous Muddy Puddles items that they come up quite big, so I opted for age 2-3 for Georgie and she has plenty of room to grow in it yet. This is fantastic as a snowsuit but I know that it will be worn many times for rainy days closer to home.

They all received some Snowdrift Snowboots. These feature removable fleece inserts to keep little feet nice and warm. They are made with vegan suede and have waterproof rubber shells with rubber outsoles that ensure a decent grip in snowy conditions. The lacing also works with a toggle, so it’s easy for small hands to tighten up.

The boys wear their Blizzard Winter Jackets and Blizzard Winter Salopettes.

These jackets are super warm with padding and a soft fleece lining. They’re completely waterproof and insulated and the boys didn’t once feel cold wearing these. They also come with a removal hood if they find that they don’t want to wear them.

Most importantly for when out on the slopes, the jackets have all the necessary zipped compartments for storing lift passes etc.

They loved the thumb cuffs on their jackets too.

The Salopettes have zip off braces and adjustable waists, so it’s easy to get a good fit with them. They come with side zips on the ankles, enabling them to sit over their ski/snowboots and they also come with snow gaiters to keep the snow out! As with everything else, they are fully waterproof and have the added benefit of reinforced fabric on the knees.

Overall we loved that the ski wear is designed with ‘kids in mind’ and the boys particularly loved the patterns and colours on their jackets. They were easy to spot on the slopes and they certainly stood out from a lot of other ski clothing that we saw.

Their gear was brilliant for skiing but will also be equally as useful now we’re home. From jackets to wear to school, the all in one suit for rainy days and of course the salopettes and snow boots for when we have snow.
