We ventured on our first activity holiday to Butlins Minehead on a special family half term toddler themed long weekend. From the moment we arrived, we were not disappointed. We stayed in a silver room in chalet style accommodation, which I was initially apprehensive about staying in, but when we opened the door to our rooms, we were pleasantly surprised.
As soon as we got there, we opted to head straight for splash world. Edward loved the toddler pool and the addition of slides. After swimming we headed over to the mini motor bike area where Edward had a ride with daddy (this was not included in the activity price but at 2 pounds wasn’t too expensive), and then also managed to fit in a ride on the carousel at the fair (which was included in the price)
For our evening meal we ventured to the premium dining canteen, which felt a tiny bit like we were on a cruise, with the presentation of meals, drinks and desserts on offer, this certainly helped with my son’s picky appetite. I thought I would check out the live cooking station where they cooked me a stir-fry been noodle dish with my choice of vegetables thrown in.
We were given an itinerary booklet which have so many activities included in the price and shows that my toddler could attend. My son particularly wanted to watch ‘The Teletubbies shows’ and ‘Mr Men shows’, which you could watch in ‘The Skyline Pavilion’. We found the shows were not too long, which was great for some toddlers who may not have the full attention to sit for a long time.
