We love Wales here at Mini Travellers, and over Easter we were excited to be invited to visit Gower , the Mumbles, and Swansea itself, by the team at Visit Swansea Bay.  We had a fun filled 4 days and 3 night break and you can see all we got up to in this post here including our stay at Parc Le Breos Bed & Breakfast on the Gower.

During our time in the area we were lucky enough to stay at Parc le Breos on a B&B basis. Parc le Breos is a old Victorian hunting lodge and set in beautiful grounds. We were lucky that the weather was so kind to us as within minutes of arriving the kids were playing in the garden and on the rope swing with their 3 year old tour guide.

The place is family run and little Fern knows how to entertain her guests.  The girls were introduced to the chicks and the ducklings and made to feel very welcome indeed.

The house has grown organically over the years as it has changed its use to reflect changing demands.  We had a family room on the ground floor which was probably too slightly full of beds for total comfort, but that was down to us having to change plans and arrive during a different time.  It was cosy but all the beds were comfy and the room was very clean and turned down every day.  The bathroom was bright and cheerful and had a large power shower with nice products.

The noise from the rooms above was a little distracting at times, perhaps ask for a room on the first floor if you have a choice, but this didn’t in anyway detract from the lovely time welcome we had and how we were looked after when we were there.

For me, what made it, was the breakfast and the homely feeling you got to start the day.  The dining area, set over two rooms one including the light and bright conservatory was a genuinely nice place to be.

Great service, friendly waiting staff and basically any option of the full Welsh breakfast you wanted.  They happily brought my girls their different egg choices and number of sausages/slices of bacon they wanted with piles and piles of toast.  The little extras like locally made jams and honey was a lovely additional touch.

Over the previous years the grounds of the hotel had been a equestrian centre but these have now been landscaped and different projects are starting to be developed there. A glamping log cabin is now operational and a Shepherds Hut is on its way.

My three loved wandering off and finding places to stop and play, and they decided there was a mini Castle in the grounds just for them!

Parc le Breos is apparently only a 20 minute walk from the stunning Three Cliffs Bay but unfortunately we didn’t make it this time.

Maybe next time we are in the Gower we’ll make it, and I think we’d have to try that log fire in the Glamping Pod.

NB: We visited the Gower as guests of Visit Swansea Bay but all views and opinions are my own.
