As you know from some of the photos I have just recently returned from the latest addition to the Sani Resort in Halkidiki – Sani Dunes which opens tomorrow!  I loved it and you can read why here!

Originally created as a grown up hotel, one that focused on adults and children over 12; the resort has received overwhelming feedback from its partners and has taken the decision to remove the age limit when booking Sani Dunes for 2018. Existing bookings for 2017 will remain as it had been intended so as not to upset any adult only pre-bookings for this year but the change will come at the start of 2018. So you can now take your babies and toddlers, but should you?

Having travelled to Sani Dunes before the official opening on Monday 3 July and experienced the hotel without children, as was intended, I can see the appeal of the ‘grown up’ hotel. There are Michelin starred restaurant menus, beautiful bars within which to drink cocktails. There is silence and peace to enjoy the uninterrupted view to the sea from the stunning apartments towards the front of the property. All apartments have practically direct access to the biggest heated swimming pool in Greece that snakes through the resort and there wasn’t an inflatable in sight to blot the landscape. It is quite simply bliss!

Combine this with sunset cruises, with free flowing champagne and a complimentary trip around the Kasandra Penisula (again with champagne photo stops) and you have an incredible experience at Sani Dunes.

Now that’s not to say you shouldn’t visit Sani Dunes with you children, and in fact that resort is now saying that you can. However unlike the other hotels within the Sani Resort it isn’t located close to the kids club, but simply the Teens Club which is next door. There are also no plans for a separate childrens pool or for a childrens menu, so those that prefer those facilities would still be better served by one of the other hotels which have these facilities in.

I for one would not be booking Sani Dunes for my 6 and 5 year olds and not because they wouldn’t love it, I’m sure they would, but simply because Sani have made their other hotels so exceptionally child friendly that I think my children would be happier at the other hotels until they are a little older.

NB: I stayed at Sani Dunes as their guest but all views and opinions are my own.
