On a recent family holiday to the Lake District we had it in our mind to visit an attraction related to the wonderful work of Miss Potter. If you like me were brought up with the stories of fluffy bunnies, sly foxes, and puddle ducks, you will enjoy seeing Peter Rabbit at The World of Beatrix Potter, Lake District.
I am extending the love of these books to my daughter, and we read them regularly however she recognizes the characters mainly from the CGI version on Cbeebies more so than the books…oh the power of, but still testament to their longevity as children’s stories!
Your child will be given an activity booklet with things to find and do on your visit which was a lovely keepsake from her time there and kept her interest nicely. There is also an interactive photo station where you can have your picture taken in your favorite iconic scene from the stories. WARNING: we did need a few attempts at this due to face pulling but it was so funny! The gift shop is lovely and there are some great pocket money priced items and there is a lovely tea shop if needed.
Considering the small space this attraction has they really make the most of it. You come away feeling warm and fuzzy inside from the experience and your children are guaranteed to have a lovely wholesome good old fashioned day out with the family.
Tips: Take a packed lunch to eat by Lake Windermere and feed a real life Jemima at the lake. Also use Tesco Clubcard boosts to get free or discounted tickets.
