Here are Top Ten Tips for visiting Winter Wonderland at Event City
1. Santa Visit
The Santa visit is one of the highlights for me and definitely was for our 4 year old daughter too. The whole experience is wonderful with a greeting from an elf with a diamanté beard, a visit through Mr and Mrs Claus’ house right through to a private meet and greet with Santa finished off with meeting two of his reindeers. I would however make your way straight there if you’re wishing to visit him to avoid spending the majority of your allocated time queuing. It’s £3.50 per person and in my opinion well worth it. When you enter the building turn immediately right and keep going and you’ll find Santa there. They don’t let you take a pic when the kids are with Santa but they do throughout his house and I got some wonderful pics of that.
2. Eat before you go
Whilst there’s lots of food on offer ranging from English to Indian cuisine it is quite expensive for what it is. Personally I would eat before you go and then fill up on the delicious pancakes and sweet stuff on offer!
3. Ditch the coats
It is quite warm inside the building so I would recommend that you put your coat in the cloakroom to avoid having to carry them around throughout your visit.
4. Remember the dollar!
Unfortunately when you get in there not everything is free! Some of the games such a hook a duck are playable for a £3 fee which soon mounts up!
5. Take a bin liner or a big bag!
Take a big bag to carry all of the big toys that your kids win! We walked out with all sorts and we were very grateful of the bin liner that was handed to us from a lady on a stall.
6. Take a seat!
The shows are quite good so remember to take a rest from the rides and let the kids enjoy the shows. My two particularly enjoyed Rainbow and the Ice Princesses!
7. Safety first!
I would definitely recommend people with small children took reigns or a pram. It is very busy and I guess children could get lost quite easily especially with them being distracted by the bright lights. They do however appear to have a good procedure in place for missing children but let’s face it you never wish for that to be you!
8. Fly with the snowman!
If you can go on the Snowman simulator it’s fabulous especially for those who are Snowman fans. It’s right next to Santa.
9. Ride safely
They were generally very good when we there regarding safety but on a normal session it is a lot busier therefore I would as a parent ensure that your child is strapped in safely on all rides so you can relax during their experience.
10. Finally don’t OD on the E numbers!
Mine both had far too many E numbers and were buzzing the whole time we were there and afterwards too ha! They loved the sweet stuff on offer and of course the slushy stall which allowed them to make multi coloured slushy drinks. I thought they would be exhausted and fall asleep on the way home…….Top Ten Tips for Winter Wonderland – Event City.
