ISBJORN of Sweden really do know how to make fantastic outdoor clothing for children.
Two very adventurous boys put a pair of trousers and jacket to the test after hearing so much about ISBJORN clothing for kids. What better place to test than a rock face in the Italian Alps and the British Lake District.
Samuel age 11 loves rock climbing so you need hard wearing, tough and stretchy clothes. He climbed on white granite cliffs in Italy so you don’t get any tougher than that and many a trouser can easily tear on that type of service. The trousers passed with flying colours and for once we got some great photos with lots of colour instead of always having the usual black clothing for boys. The specification for the trousers was as good as any top range adult clothing with specialist vents on the sides of the legs and combination material for stretch and durability.
Luke age 9 had the jacket and what you usually find is that lots of jackets out there look the part but when the weather suddenly changes they just don’t have the spec to keep a child warm and protect then against the wind. Going up into the mountains to see the glaciers in July we suddenly had cold winds and snow but Luke in his shorts and jacket was very warm and no moaning took place.
In the Lake District we had the usual day of rain followed by sun and these trousers were perfect. I can not rave enough about how much Samuel loves his new trousers and Luke his top. Proper all round boys clothes that meet the demands of outdoor boys first and secondly look good. You soon learn when childrens’ clothing does not keep the chill out or get heavy with rain when their lips go blue and they start crying. We have always made sure our children have high spec clothing as you pay for what you get. At the end of the day if your an outdoor family who loves an adventure that you have to be on the ball with safety and keeping a child warm is one of the most important things.
Note to Mums out there if you are a size 10 then you can also borrow these trousers and they are the best bit of kit I’ve ever managed to find for my size that’s not black….. the advantages of being the same size as an 11 year old!
NB: Katy and her boys received the clothing in order to review but all views and opinions are their own.
Such a great recommendation for practical and good looking gear.
