A Cornish Mum aka Stephanie Couch got in touch to share with us her review of the amazing Trecombe Lakes. Stephanie or Stevie writes a lifestyle blog with beautiful photos. You should pop over and have a nosey around like I did when uploading this. Stevie can also be found tweeting @stevie_couch.
In 2013 we stayed at an amazing place that I want to tell you about. It’s Trecombe Lakes which is just five minutes away from Falmouth in Cornwall. Of all the holidays we have been on this small 3 night stay within an hours drive has to be one of my favourites!
I’m not a great one for camping, wayyyy too many insects for my liking, not to mention the horrendous state of most communal camping toilet facilities. However after going to Trecombe I could definitely get used to the idea of Glamping!
At one end of the pod was our very comfortable double bed, and at the other were two single beds for the boys with a well thought out fold up table between them. This table was perfect for board games, and for them to keep their magazines and toys on and under. There were even beanbags for the boys to slouch into, which they loved as they have not been allowed one at home ever since the ‘lucky dip’ incident. This was where they decided to hide all their small toys in an old bean bag chair, and then ‘lucky dip’ them out putting thousands of beans all over their bedroom in the process!
The pod even had a fab little kitchen area, although admittedly we were naughty and ate out the whole time. The kettle of course was overused the whole time we were there, Mr Perfect is a true Cornishman through and through and really feels that tea is his own personal fuel to get through the day.
The only tiny downside I would say to the play area that they had there is that its aimed at older children, and possibly a mini person play area would be an excellent idea for them in the future. However they do also provide board games, dressing up outfits, tennis rackets with a net and other items in their small communal lodge house, that anyone can use! There were even 2 small bikes there, which one of my sons learnt to ride a bike for the first time on so thank you so much for that Trecombe! In this small lodge house as well is a washing machine, tumble dryer and I seem to remember there was an ironing board and iron as well. They really do seem to have thought of everything.
Anyway as you have probably guessed I would really recommend that anyone try a stay at Trecombe Lakes, it really does not disappoint.
Note: This review was not commissioned by anyone nor endorsed by Trecombe Lakes, this is merely my own musings and well deserved praise.

Thank you for putting it up so quickly! It really is a fab place, hence why I thought more people should know about it!
I have never been camping before…ever so this seems like a good alternative. The pods look really cute.
