These spectacular sculptures by Antony Gormley are situated on Crosby beach in North Liverpool. The installation called Another Place is made up of around 100 cast-iron, life-size figures.

Top Tip: Check the Tide Times
You need to check the tide times before you visit as otherwise you may find yourself standing on the promenade looking out to sea, possibly seeing some heads, possibly not!
Top Tip: Take Wellies whatever the weather!
The installation runs for three kilometres of Crosby Beach and the statues also go out to sea for about 1 kilometre too. It’s always wet around the statues themselves so whatever the weather take wellies!
The statues are made from casts of Antony Gormley’s own body. They stand on the beach, all of them facing out to sea. Kids love them, adults love them, dogs love them, they are what you make of them.
How long does a visit to the Antony Gormley statues take?
To be honest the answer to this question is how long is a piece of string. We’ve visited a few times and been there for about an 1hr each time. We usually combine it with a trip to Formby Beach too as it takes us about an hour to drive there from home.
If you decide to spend time on the beach though doing other things, do be aware that there are areas of soft sand and mud and you can’t swim here at any time of year.

What facilities are at Crosby Beach where Antony Gormley statues are?
When we visited the Antony Gormley statues in August 2020, there was a bank of toilets on the front open and being used, an ice cream van and a coffee and snacks van too.
How to get to Another Place?
There is a huge car park right next to the beach which in 2020 cost £1 to park.
Merseyrail operate regular services from Liverpool Central and Moorfields stations in Liverpool city centre to Blundellsands and Crosby station, which is a short stroll away from the attraction.
