Are you planning to visit Rhodes in October? We did recently and you can read about our trip to Rhodes in October here, after getting back though, all anyone wanted to hear about was how was the weather in Rhodes in October.

This post is all about weather in Rhodes in October and what you might want to wear and pack while you’re there.

So I’ll start with the fact that you aren’t going to be basking in 30°+ heat in Rhodes in October BUT if you accept this and enjoy the milder than UK weather then I’m sure you’ll enjoy the weather.

It’s pretty mild weather, but it’s a good idea to bring along a jumper or light jacket for the evenings. The average daily maximum temperature in Rhodes in October is 25 C and the average daily minimum temperature in Rhodes in October is 19 C.

When we travelled in October 2020 we had days where we could sunbathe on the beach in a swim suit and other days where it was nicer to wear shorts and t-shirts. We also had a full day of storms and rain.

It’s said that the average temperature for the weather in Rhodes in October is 22 C.

Visiting Rhodes in October also means a slightly cooler, more manageable climate for sightseeing.

In Rhodes you have too many historic monuments to mention, but you really do have to go and see the Acropolis of Lindos. We love visiting sights like this but with kids in the middle of August it can be pretty challenging. What’s amazing about visiting Rhodes in October is that you can visit historic places without it being far too hot, and without them being far too busy. Granted we visited when Rhodes was quiet due to the Covid situation but it was fantastic to play mock Olympic games at the Acropolis of Rhodes and see the Acropolis of Lindos without huge queues.

It might be obvious but always check the weather before your trip as close to your departure time as possible. Leave time to take out the extra bikini and add in another raincoat.

There is a 70% chance of a perfect sunny day and a 30% chance of seeing some clouds, with on average 11mm of rainfall in Rhodes in October.

What to Pack for the weather in Rhodes in October

Layers, and lots of them. We wore swimsuits, flip flops, trainers, shorts, long trousers, t-shirts, cardigans and raincoats. So you basically need to pack for all seasons and be delighted if you don’t need to wear the rainy warm stuff!
