When you go to stay in a caravan, touring or static, space is always at a premium. After doing a few of these holidays and always forgetting something I decided to put together a list of everything I could need to pack on a caravan holiday and just amend it depending on the weather and facilities available at each site.

As a general rule I pack enough clothes for about a week, that can be layered up. This is so you can easily add or take away layers depending on the weather. I also take mainly mixed colours that can go in the wash together. At places like Camping and Caravanning Club sites the washers are big and it saves time and money to be able put everything in together that you need to wash.

The other thing to consider is what to take clothes in. The obvious answer is a suitcase or holdall but the problem with caravan holidays can be storing them. In our touring caravan I always take clothes in large supermarket shopping bags that can then be used for doing your food shopping while you’re away. On a holiday abroad where you’ve taken a flight to stay in a caravan, a suitcase or holdall are your only options. Try to get bags and suitcases that can be stored inside each other to save space.
